UN: more than 10,000 civilians have been killed

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 10,810 civilians have died. 600 of them are children. This was announced by UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenča at a meeting of the UN Security Council on 11 April.

The UN representative said that 20,556 civilians, including 1,357 children, were injured.

According to the UN report, 40% of the country’s residents are in need of humanitarian assistance. Moreover, humanitarian aid organisations do not have access to the territories under Russian occupation.
