The Russian military has destroyed 80% of the forest plantations of the Holy Mountains National Park in northern Donetsk region. This was reported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
The Holy Mountains National Park was under Russian occupation from March to September 2022 and is now constantly under fire from the Russians, which leads to fires. About 9.5 thousand hectares of forest were destroyed by the war.
The environmental damage to the national park was preliminarily estimated at around UAH 16 billion.
