While the first impulse at the mention of “ice cream that spreads LGBT propaganda” may be to laugh at the ridiculous nature of such claim, one should remember the abhorrent state of human rights in #Russia, especially in regard to #LGBT+ community.
The very fact that speakers of federal television use outdated derogatory terms to describe #LGBT+ persons and #POC and this not only does not cause an uproar, but is treated like a norm, is one of many signs of normalization of horrible treatment of any minorities under #Putin’s regime.
Moreover, the situation is about to get much worse since new Constitutional amendments, which are mentioned in the tirade, are designed to cement so-called “traditional values” in Russian society.
