The Jewish community and heritage in Ukraine have suffered from the full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine since the very start of the war.
In the first days of the hostilities, Russian troops shelled the territory of Babyn Yar Holocaust memorial site in Kyiv, and ever since, they have continued shelling synagogues with people sheltering, Jewish communal buildings, kidnapped Israeli citizens.
The Jewish community continues providing support to the refugees in Ukraine and helps with evacuation from the areas of active hostilities. Israelis are helping Ukraine defend itself as part of the International Legion of Territorial Defense.
