Russia invaded Ukraine: Top news for March 4

On the night of March 4, the Russian occupiers fired on the power units of Zaporizhzhia NPP. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out. In the morning the fire was extinguished. Rescuers assured that there were no victims. Due to the fire, the IAEA will urgently inspect nuclear power plants in Ukraine.

But we need partners to help us with concrete, resolute and swift actions, now”, stressed Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba at the extraordinary meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers

About 100 people may be under the rubble of houses in Borodianka in Kyiv region, Ukraine’s SES reports. Their fate is currently unknown. Rescuers do not have access to them at the moment. On March 3, a group of SES rescuers came under fire in Borodianka.

A rocket hit a school in Zhytomyr. Preliminary, there are no victims. 5 people were evacuated, the mayor of the city Sergiy Sukhomlyn told.

The Russian military has not allowed a “green corridor” for the supply of humanitarian aid to Kherson region – the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration Hennadiy Laguta. The occupiers began broadcasting 24 Russian TV and 3 radio channels on T2.  Kyivstar and Vodafone mobile networks were shut down in Kherson region.

The fight continues on the outskirts of Mykolaiv: the Russian-occupying troops go on a counteroffensive on the Kulbakin airfield, the head of Mykolaiv regional state administration Vitaliy Kim reported.

Ukraine’s Parliament allowed the process of expropriation of Russian property on the territory of Ukraine to begin. This was reported by the press service of the Servant of the People party. The forcible confiscation of property and funds of Russia and its residents in Ukraine is carried out without any compensation for their value, given the full-scale aggressive war that Russia has waged and is waging against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

The Lithuanian Parliament has supported the introduction of ‘closed sky’ over Ukraine.
