The devastation of Ukraine’s cultural heritage – historic buildings, monuments, libraries, and churches – is an inherent and intentional element of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has already recorded 331 Russian war crimes against cultural heritage as of May 14, 2022. As a result of shelling, rocket and bomb attacks, 110 cultural heritage sites were destroyed and damaged.
