Russia prepares for its largest attack on Ukraine yet

As the weather gets colder, Ukrainians are living in anxiety over another massive missile attack from Russia. Colder temperatures mean that Ukraine needs its energy infrastructure to be intact more than ever to ensure that civilians have access to heat, water, light, and other necessities. Therefore, Russia has been preparing to time its strike to this period specifically, to ensure that it deals the most damage during this critical time.

In the past several months, Russia has increased the intensity of drone attacks to “scout” Ukraine’s air defense for weakness. Russia has been imploring new strategies, such as launching false targets and using cheaper “parody UAVs” to distract and exhaust Ukrainian air defense. Ukraine has been preparing to counter Russia’s next massive strike by upgrading its air defenses and implementing new tactics to increase efficiency. However, in the face of Russia accelerating its attacks, Ukraine needs more anti-aircraft systems to keep protecting civilian and energy infrastructure.
