In continuation of our rubric about top hybrid influences in Ukraine this week:
- The string of disinformation and manipulations around sanctioning TV channels that belong to pro-Russian oligarch and politician Medvedchuk is still strong, with local agents continuing their outcries about the supposed “violation of freedom of speech”.
- Kremlin is using an old tactic of exploiting vulnerabilities in society to promote its agenda. Currently we are observing increased exploitation of economic grievances to instill the idea that Ukraine needs to succumb to Russian dominion.
- Recently Russian propagandist Margarita Simonyan travelled to occupied Donbas and called for annexing the entirety of Eastern Ukraine to become part of Russia. This is but one of many instances of amplification of “Russian Donbas” narrative.
