Ukraine restaurant business during the war

Ukraine restaurant business during the war. Ukraine in Flames #111

Since Russia’s brutal large-scale invasion, Ukrainian businesses had to adapt to the war realities under stressful conditions. For the restaurant business, it was another shock after two years of the pandemic. However, many Ukrainian cafes and restaurants quickly recovered and started making their own contribution to Ukraine’s victory.

Some of them changed the format and started providing warm meals to the military and territorial defense forces, others were delivering food to people hiding in the bomb shelters and subway stations. Now, every day more and more food establishments reopen, working under threat, sometimes in the cities with constant shellings. They keep working to create jobs, support the Ukrainian economy and bring the victory closer.

For some businesses, it is hard to survive since in some cases, working is even more unprofitable than closing, but they do not give up, giving people at least some feeling of the “lost” normality, helping those who need it the most, and certainly, helping Ukraine.

Despite large losses and constant shellings, Ukrainian restaurant businesses remain afloat, supporting the army and the Ukrainian economy. Cooperating with volunteers, delivering meals to elderly and internally displaced persons, and introducing the practice of “suspended coffees” and “suspended pizzas” for military and medics – they are doing their best to support Ukrainians in tough times. Watch Ukraine in Flames #111 to learn how restaurant businesses help Ukraine win the war.
