Ukrainian port city Odesa used to have a booming tourism industry with pearls of XIX century architecture and the Black sea resorts. Now, the beaches are mined to prevent Russian forces from landing and tourists stay away. With anti-tank hedgehogs and sandbags, the third largest Ukrainian city is ready to hold the line.
While Russia still has plans to get control over Odesa Black sea port, the city residents stand firm, train at paramilitary centers, study military strategy, participate in volunteering, believe in Ukrainian Armed Forces, and get ready for fierce resistance.
Despite Russia’s brutal missile attacks targeting shopping malls, hotels, resort towns, and residential buildings in the region, people hope for the quick return of the peaceful times after Ukrainian victory, and Odesa will be a soothing paradise for both Ukrainian and foreign travelers as it used to be.
