On March 17, International Criminal Court’s issued an arrest warrant against Vladimir Putin. This decision became historical not only for Ukraine but also for the international law.
As the ICC accuses Russian president of committing war crimes in Ukrain, another arrest warrant is also issued to Russia’s ombudsman of children rights.
Therefore, the claims are focus inter alia on the forceful deportation of children from occupied Ukrainian territories to Russia.
While Moscow denies all the allegations and pretends to “not care”, the war crimes do not have limitation period so Putin may be held accountable in any of over 120 countries that ratified the Rome Statute. Some of them, as, for example, Germany, has already expressed readiness to arrest the leader of the aggressor state as soon as he would be on German territory.
