Current situation at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

Since March 2022, the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant remains one of the bargaining chips in Russia’s nuclear bluff. Since the facility is completely under the control of Rosatom personnel and Rostekhnadzor officials, it has been systematically used for blackmail and intimidation of Ukrainians.

The constant presence of the Russian military constitutes another danger for the Ukrainian side. Russians conduct illegal construction on some facilities and violate the principles of the safe use of nuclear energy.

Despite the regular inspections of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) remains a threat to the nuclear safety and security of Ukraine while occupied.

UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
