The latest sanctions package: can it disrupt Kremlin’s aggressive plans?

With the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, economic sanctions have become one of the main tools of Western pressure on the Putin regime. Sanctions against critical sectors of the Russian economy affect the Kremlin’s ability to conduct hostilities accompanied by unjustified brutality against Ukraine.

The economy of the Russian Federation suffers due to restrictions from the Western world but continues to function due to very high prices for energy carriers on the international market. After all, new mechanisms, such as the “price ceiling” for oil, eventually reduced Moscow’s ability to fuel the war.

At the same time, Ukrainian partners should monitor compliance with the regime of restrictions because the Russian Federation is constantly trying to circumvent the sanctions policy. The new package of sanctions should not only increase the pressure on other sectors of the economy but also close the gaps in the previous decisions.
