The meaning of the Russian war consists of the maximum destruction of everything that contains even the slightest sign of Ukrainianness. In its genocidal tactics, the Russian regime is trying to destroy not only the Ukrainian army but also Ukrainian culture, infrastructure, economy, and, ultimately, communications.
The hacker attack that Kyivstar suffered is one of the largest in such cases and affected 24 million users, affecting many areas requiring telephone and Internet communication. It was a blow that temporarily paralyzed a part of Ukraine’s economy and severed essential links to the information infrastructure, which affected the safety of the civilian population.
Cyber security is one of the new dimensions of warfare in today’s world, and such attacks confirm the need to invest considerable resources in creating effective threat protection systems.
UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
