The Russian military leadership was faced with a difficult task. After the loss of many tactical and strategic aircraft due to several successful operations of the Ukrainian defence forces, problems arose with the restoration of the Russian Armed Forces aircraft fleet. On the one hand, the cause of such large-scale losses was a careless attitude toward the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and on the other hand, new approaches of the military leadership of Ukraine.
Currently, the Kremlin, with the help of propagandists, is somehow trying to justify to the population the loss of significant aircraft in the war against Ukraine. At the same time, the majority of Ukrainian and Western experts claim that the losses of A-50 reconnaissance aircraft are irreversible and cannot be restored.
Ukraine needs to continue reducing the capabilities of the Russian Air Force on the same principle as the Black Sea Fleet was destroyed in Crimea. This will give a serious advantage to Ukrainian forces on the ground and will reduce the ability of the Russian Federation to terrorize peaceful Ukrainian cities, especially in the context of the imminent appearance of the long-awaited F-16.
