Analyzing Allies’ Response: Israel Defended, Ukraine Left Vulnerable

Analyzing Allies' Response: Israel Defended, Ukraine Left Vulnerable. Ukraine in Flames #601

The recent attack by Iran on Israel showcased a robust defence system put in place by Israel and its allies, which resulted in the interception of approximately 99 per cent of the 300 missiles and drones launched by Iran, effectively averting significant damage. Israel’s defence was bolstered by the assistance of the United States, Britain, France, and Jordan, who reacted promptly with fighter jets and Patriot batteries.

In contrast, Ukraine, facing similar missile and drone attacks from Russia, relied on a mix of air defence systems provided by Western partners, including three U.S.-designed Patriot batteries operated by Ukrainian troops.

Ukraine lacks the instant, direct assistance from the United States and other partners that Israel receiving, leaving them vulnerable to the attacks and resulting in civilian casualties. The discrepancy in international response has left experts in Ukraine and beyond questioning the level of support available to the country in the face of such attacks.
