
As of the morning of March 22, 2022, 117 children were killed and more than 155 were injured, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine informs.
Children suffered the most in Kyiv – 58, Kharkiv – 40, Chernihiv – 31, Donetsk – 30, Mykolaiv regions – 24, Kyiv city – 16, Zhytomyr – 15, Kherson – 15 and Sumy – 14 regions.
In the Kharkiv region, a Russian tank shot down a car with a family of two children. The family shouted that they were civilians, waving a white flag, but in vain. Parents and a 9-year-old girl were killed and a 17-year-old boy was injured.
As a result of the shelling of the Kostiantynivka village in the Mykolaiv district, houses were destroyed, the burnt bodies of 3 people were found under the rubble, among which a 7-year-old.
On March 21, 2022, the occupiers fired on evacuation buses with children from Mariupol. Four children were taken to the hospital. Three children came under fire in the Polohy district of the Zaporizhzhia region, another child – in the village Kamianske. Two children are in serious condition.
The bombings and shelling damaged 548 educational institutions, 72 of which were completely destroyed. The most damaged were in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Kherson, Chernihiv regions and in the city of Kyiv. In addition, more than 40 children’s facilities were destroyed, including medical facilities, art schools, sports facilities, and libraries.
