“DE” Workshop Revitalizing public spaces and establishing communication between the community and local self-governance bodies

Cities: Sloviansk, Sievierodonetsk and Mariupol. November 2015

The workshop idea appeared after the cultural and artistic residence “Upon Boh” was held in Vinnytsia in late August 2015. Curators documented the experience obtained during the residence in the “Road map on the use of inclusive methods of contemporary art to inform the people as well as to reinforce communication between civil society and municipal authorities using implementation of decommunization laws in Ukraine as an example.” Workshop “DE” was designed to popularize the ideas of the Vinnytsia residence. The workshops main themes are: revitalization of public spaces, establishing communication between the community and local self-governance bodies, use of methods and tools of contemporary art in the work with acute social themes.

Workshop participants were activists from Sloviansk, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Bakhmut, Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Starobilsk and Mariupol.
