As of 12:00 on March 6, 2022, since the beginning of the invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, 38 children were killed and 71 children were injured.
It was reported by Ukraine’s Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova.
These data are not final, as it is currently impossible to establish accurate information on the number of killed and wounded residents of Mariupol, Donetsk region and the city of Irpin in Kyiv region.
Only for the last day a 1,5 year old boy died as a result of shelling by the Russian occupiers in Mariupol.
In the town of Bucha Kyiv region, two seriously injured children died due to inability to receive medical care.
On the way out of the city of Irpin, Kyiv region, Russian troops opened fire on civilians as they tried to evacuate the city. At least three people were killed, including two children and another seriously injured.
The boy, who was born in Kharkiv 40 days ago, died of pneumonia, which he contracted during a several-day stay in a bomb shelter in Kharkiv.
As a result of the air attack on Bila Tserkva city, the enemy fired missile strikes at 15 private homes where there were elderly people and children. The number of victims is currently unknown.
In the direction of Gostomel-Bucha-Irpin there are up to 70 children in shelters, there are wounded. Doctors and volunteers are not allowed by the aggressor’s army to visit children.
“The armed forces of the Russian Federation continue to grossly violate the fundamental rights of children – the right to life and health guaranteed to every child in the world by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
I call on international human rights organizations to take all possible measures to increase pressure on the Russian Federation to end military aggression against Ukraine”, Liudmyla Denisova stressed.
