Kyiv, February 11, 2015 – Intensified fighting continues in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone. “At the night of 10-11 February, terrorists fired 27 times at the positions of Ukrainian troops. Last night militant attacks in the Luhansk direction climbed to the record-high numbers,” said Anatoliy Stelmakh, ATO Staff spokesman, via Skype at a briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. Hirske, Novotoshkivske, Vilkhove and Stanytsia Luhanska came under fire from the artillery and multiple rocket launchers. Verkhnya Vilkhova was shelled three times with “Grad” missile systems from the territory of the Russian Federation.
Militants remain active at the Debaltseve direction. “The city of Debaltseve was fired upon three times during the night. Popasna, Zolote and Luhanske were also affected,” noted the ATO Staff spokesman. At the Mariupol direction, the enemy twice hit Pavlopil and Novoselivka. Ukrainian artillery retaliated with several precise strikes that inflicted considerable casualties on the enemy. “87 militants and 42 units of military equipment, including 12 tanks, 14 multiple rocket launcher systems and 16 combat armoured vehicles were eliminated in the last 24 hours,” explained Anatoliy Stelmakh.
