Kyiv, October 27, 2015. Yesterday at the contact line the militants who temporarily control the territory of the destroyed Donetsk airport opened fire on the positions of ATO forces near Opytne and Pisky. “During the fighting one Ukrainian serviceman was killed. It was calm at the other frontline sectors yesterday,” informed Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, spokeperson of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine on ATO-related issues, at a briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
In Kostyantynivka the police caught the malefactor nicknamed “Pankrat”, who had organized information network for militants. Last summer after liberation of the town he organized on militants’ instructions a clandestine group consisting of 7 people and headed it. “During the search the police seized communication facilities, a computer, and topographic maps,” – said Colonel Motuzyanyk. Besides, Ukraine’s Security Service officers found caches of ammunition in Artemivsk district of Donetsk region. This time, they found almost 9 kilograms of TNT bombs, antipersonnel mine MON-50, 500 g of plastid, 5 grenades.
“Yesterday, 20 vehicles with humanitarian cargo from the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine crossed the checkpoint Novotroitske. The vehicles transported more than 260 tons of chemicals for industrial water treatment,” informed the spokeperson on ATO-related issues. Another 6 trucks with humanitarian aid crossed the checkpoint Zaitseve. “They were loaded with 80 tons of food from foreign benefactors,” added Colonel Motuzyanyk.
