Thankfully, no Ukrainian serviceman was killed in ATO zone yesterday, but five servicemen were injured. Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO, Colonel Andriy Lysenko reported this during daily press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
The largest number of ceasefire violations involving heavy weapons was recorded in Donetsk sector. Militants conducted 19 shooting attacks in 24 hours there, using mortars seven times. They directed lasting disturbing mortar fire at Ukrainian positions in Verkhniotoretske, Avdiivka and near Donetsk airport. Each attack included less then 10 mortar rounds, but involved also small arms and grenade launchers. Russian proxies attacked with small arms Zaitseve in the evening, and Luhanske and Opytne with APC weapons.
In Luhansk sector Russia-backed militants used mortars to shell Krymske around 16:00 and Novooleksandrivka three hours later. Moreover, they attacked Krymske and Katerynivka with grenade launchers twice.
Mariupol sector accounts for 22 attacks yesterday, most of them in Pavlopil – Shyrokyne frontline. Militants twice used heavy weapons near Maryinka. “Enemy snipers were active near Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Novotroitske and Vodiane yesterday,” added Col. Lysenko.
