In Donetsk sector, militants violated the ceasefire 11 times, reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Colonel Andriy Lysenko at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. The attacks started after 15:00. “Avdiivka area remains the main flashpoint. Moreover, Russian proxies violated the ceasefire in Maiorsk, Pisky, Luhanske, Verkhniotoretske, and Neveleske,” elaborated the spokesman. Militants used no heavy weaponry, but attacked Ukrainian positions in Zaitseve with IFV mounted weapons.
In Luhansk sector, militants conducted ten armed provocations. Hostilities started after 17:00. “Militants mostly violated the ceasefire in Krymske attacking our positions four times with light weapons, hand and mounted grenade launchers and various mortars,” said Col. Lysenko. Militants engaged Ukrainian positions near Triokhizbenka twice using small arms and grenades. Moreover, they violated the ceasefire near Valuiske, Katerynivka, Popasna, and Novooleksandrivka. Ukrainian troops returned fire in response to the majority of the armed provocations.
In Mariupol sector, militants violated the ceasefire five times. “Near Shyrokyne the enemy mortared our positions with 82-mm and 120-mm weapons, firing the total of 14 rounds. Moreover, three more armed incidents were recorded in Hnutove, Krasnohorivka, and Maryinka, where militants attacked our strongholds with small arms and grenade launchers,” elaborated Col. Lysenko. All attacks were aimed and Ukrainian troops returned fire in most of the incidents.
Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no casualties in action in ATO zone yesterday.
