As of April 18, more than 567 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation – 205 children were killed and 362 received injuries of varying severity.
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported this.
Children suffered the most in regions such as Donetsk – 117, Kyiv – 107, Kharkiv – 91, Chernihiv – 54, Kherson – 43, Mykolaiv – 40, Luhansk – 36, Zaporizhzhia – 23, the capital – 16, Sumy – 16, Zhytomyr – 15.
These data are not conclusive, as inspection of sites of active hostilities and liberated settlements and receiving information on the temporarily occupied territories are underway.
- On March 2, an 11-year-old girl died in Kharkiv as a result of shelling by the occupiers of the premises of the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of the Air Force.
- On March 30, a 13-year-old girl died of injuries as a result of the shelling of the village of Vilkhivka in the Kharkiv region.
- On April 15, a 17-year-old boy was injured by the detonation of an unidentified explosive device in the Vyshhorod district of the Kyiv region.
1018 educational institutions were damaged by bombing and shelling by the Russian armed forces, 95 of them were destroyed.
