Danylo Lubkivskyi: all the Ukrainians will be able to vote in May 25 elections, including the citizens from occupied Crimea.

Successful elections on May 25 are one of the basic tasks for the country leaders. Danylo Lubkivskyi, a deputy Minister of External Affairs of Ukraine made this statement in Ukraine Crisis Media Center during the media briefing.

Conduction the presidential elections is a way to protect Ukraine. The deputy minister noted that on May 25 there will be many foreign observers in Ukraine. «Over 2700 international observers from foreign countries and numerous organizations will guarantee that the President’s elections in Ukraine will be clear and fully comply with both international and national standards», – Danylo Lubkivskyi stated.

More than 400 thousand Ukrainian citizens will be able to vote abroad in one of 114 voting stations. The deputy minister said that in the Russian Federation in all six regions (Moscow, Nizhniy Novgorod, Rostov-na-Donu, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk) the voting stations are fully prepared to the elections.

Danylo Lubkivskyi said that, according to Ukrainian legislation, the elections will be recognized as valid even if voting will be impossible in some areas. “Ukrainian government is taking all necessary measures to provide possibility for any Ukrainian to make his choice. Approximately 6000 Ukrainian citizens from the occupied Crimea will be able to vote in any voting station in continental Ukraine. Preparation to 25 May elections is being conducted in all 225 electoral districts, excluding several voting stations in Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Undoubtedly, the separatists will be trying to undermine the elections, we have already seen such attempts in several towns in East of Ukraine. All the Ukrainians in Donetsk, Luhansk and other cities are to understand that at present there is only one way to return to normal peaceful life and it is electing a new President and involving all the parties to national dialogue», – the deputy minister said.

Danylo Lubkivskyi is sure that successful presidential elections, national dialogue and round tables, economic and political reforms are necessary conditions for positive development of our country. First steps in right direction have been made: two-year lending program from the International Monetary Fund, decentralization of power and deregulation for business. «Ukraine has no future without Europe, as well as Europe has no future without Ukraine.

Presidential election is the first step we are to make for our future. These elections are not an aim or a solution, they are an instrument to give our country freedom, strengthen the economics, step away from the corruption and remnants of the Soviet system», – Danylo Lubkivskyi underlined.
