Andriy Lysenko: Over the last day, none of Ukrainian military was killed or injured. No armed provocations were recorded in Luhansk sector

Kyiv, December 13, 2015. “None of the Ukrainian military was killed or injured as a result of fighting in ATO zone. No armed provocations were recorded in Luhansk sector,” informed Andriy Lysenko, Presidential Administration spokesperson on ATO related issues at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. In Donetsk sector, Russa-backed militants used small arms, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns in the vicinity of Novhorodske and Mayorsk near Horlivka. There was one ceasefire violation involving the infantry combat vehicle near Krasnohorivka. In the vicinity of Svitlodarsk arc, in Zaitseve, illegal armed groups fired from 82-mm mortar. Besides, near the Donetsk airport, in Pisky, Opytne and Avdiivka militants fired at random for provoking Ukrainian military into escalating conflict. A similar armed provocation was recorded near Maryinka,” added Colonel Lysenko.

Over the last day, ATO forces recorded an increased number of provocations in Mariupol sector. In addition to two provocations from small arms and grenade launchers in Shyrokyne, near Granitne, the illegal armed groups conducted unaimed machine gun fire at the positions of ATO forces twice. They also fired from the tank, infantry combat vehicle and 82-mm mortars near Novotroitske.

According to the ATO spokesperson, in Donetsk region at checkpoint “Kurakhovo”, the Security Service of Ukraine detained two cars that tried to take out more than a million rubles and 97 bank cards to the temporarily occupied territories. “Over the past 10 days, more than 140 grenades and shells, three thousand rounds of ammunition and more than 6 kg of explosives were seized from illicit trafficking. Thus, Ukrainian police prevented dozens of subversive acts, terrorist attacks and accidents caused by to the use of illegal weapons,” concluded his speech Andriy Lysenko.
