Vladyslav Selezniov: at present terrorists are attacking ATO forces for the purposes of reconnaissance

Kyiv, June 11, 2014 – The military presume that at present terrorists are attacking Ukrainian military emplacement for the purposes of reconnaissance. It was the information official spokesman of the anti-terrorist operation Vladyslav Selezniov provided during his briefing call in Ukraine Crisis Media Center. «Last night in the area of ATO was comparatively calm. There were two shooting attacks for Ukrainian special forces checkpoints, no military men suffered. We also have information on Luhansk airport firing: small-arms weapon and LAW-7 were used during this shooting attack. We believe that such actions of the terrorists are easily explainable: they are locating ATO forces’ operating site. At present Ukrainian military forces are keeping militants and Russian raiders’ transposition under control», – stated Vladyslav Selezniov.

Ukrainian military checkpoints are located on main highways in the north of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.  ATO forces are providing for safe civilians’ movement in the area where combat activity still continues, through additional checkpoints and mobile patrols formation. «Besides, we communicate with local government bodies in order to have the entire picture of current developments as well as to inform citizens and coordinate their further steps and actions», – added Selezniov.

Giving comments on the issue of humanitarian corridor creation, official spokesman of the anti-terrorist operation stated that the corresponding wok is being conducted. Difficulty of the situation lies in necessity to prevent terrorists from moving into other Ukrainian regions as well as to provide proper checkup of people leaving the area of combat activity. «We are performing intensified checkups with available forces, especially on motorways leading from Kramatorsk, Slovyansk and other inhabited localities in ATO area», – added Vladyslav Selezniov.
