In 2021, 5.4 million children studied in Ukrainian schools and kindergartens, of which just over a million in kindergartens and the rest in schools. Now 2.25 million children of this figure are studying in other countries.
According to Anna Sakhno, member of the Human Capital Development Policy Research Group at the Centre for Economic Strategy, 7.8 million Ukrainians have been forced to leave and remain in Europe, of which 90% are women and children.
“As of September 2022, approximately 2.25 million Ukrainian children have been integrated into EU educational institutions. As of September 2021, a total of 5.4 million children studied in Ukrainian schools and kindergartens, of which a little over a million in kindergartens and the rest in schools, that is 43% of Ukrainian children who are outside Ukraine,” she said during a discussion at the CES.
