Active situation in Avdiivka mostly remained unchanged. In total, firefights lasted about 11 hours with recesses. Major escalation started in the afternoon and continued till late night. Nevertheless, militants did not switch to the attack. Russian proxies used heavy armor in every shooting attack from Yasynuvata and Yakovlivka. 12 buildings were damaged in the town. “Despite this, we benefited from at least temporary recesses between attacks: electricity supply in the town was resumed. Ukrainian troops were responsible for maintaining security in the place of repair works, and OSCE SMM and JCCC representatives were applying diplomatic efforts to secure ceasefire,” informed the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on ATO related issues Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. Mobile station for heating and humanitarian aid distribution organized by local authorities, military troops and charity organizations continue functioning in Avdiivka.

Hostilities still continue in the flanks of Avdiivka in Kamianka area and Butovka coalmine position. The situation is similar at the Svitlodarsk bulge, near Horlivka and in the Donetsk airport. “Regardless of certain de-escalation, compared to the middle of the previous week, occupants still pursue aggressive intentions. They are massively using heavy armor located in the frontline and in the immediate battle area. Ukrainian troops are actively responding with fire,” said the spokesman. Russian proxies opened fire 26 times in the Donetsk sector yesterday, using heavy armor 17 times.

The number of attacks conducted by militants in the Mariupol sector exceeds this figure in the other two sectors. Like before, hostilities continue along the entire frontline, and militants use heavy armor day and night. Russian proxies launched over 180 mortar shells, 55 artillery and 30 tank projectiles. “According to statistics, hostile attacks start just after the midnight, and end near the dawn. Militants also violate the armistice in the morning. They attack in the afternoon at full capacity, reaching the peak after dusk,” said Col. Motuzyanyk. The situation remains the most difficult in the Mariinka district and in Pavlopil-Shyrokyne frontline area. 53 militants’ attacks took place in the last 24 hours in the Mariupol sector, and 19 of them involved use of heavy armor.

In the Luhansk sector militants were shelling Ukrainian positions in Zhovte, Krymske and in Katerynivka-Troitske frontline area. They use mortar launchers in Novyi Aidar and Popasna districts. Moreover, hostile snipers and armored personnel carriers were shooting at Ukrainian troops two times. The ceasefire held in Stanytsia Luhanska district yesterday. “In total, 15 hostile attacks took place in the Luhansk sector yesterday, and five involved use of heavy armor,” said the spokesman.

Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no losses in combat, but six soldiers sustained wounds and injuries.
