Russia-backed militants’ shellings killed two Ukrainian servicemen in Svitlodarsk area and in Maiorsk. Three more soldiers were wounded.

Russian proxies used Minsk proscribed weapons in two out of eight ceasefire violations in Mariupol sector. “After dawn, pro-Russian troops conducted artillery attack in Vodiane, firing 24 rounds from 122-mm barrel artillery and four missiles from Grad-P rocket launcher,” reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. Militants used heavy weapons at Vodiane again at 17:00. “Four mortar shells landed directly in residential quarters of the adjacent Shyrokyne,” added Col. Motuzyanyk. Militants violated the ceasefire in Lebedynske, Hnutove, Pavlopil and Novotroitske. In Maryinka one of their attacks wounded a 59-year-old civilian.

In Luhansk sector militants violated the ceasefire seven times along the entire frontline: in Stanytsia Luhanska, near Shchastia, in Novotoshkivske, and near Popasna.  “The enemy was using only grenade launchers and small arms,” said Col. Motuzyanyk. Each attack lasted 30-60 minutes.

Russian proxies attacked our positions in Donetsk sector seven times as well. They used no heavy weapons, but enemy snipers were active in Svitlodarsk area. Militants used various grenade launchers in every ceasefire violation. Each attack lasted 60-120 minutes. “The longest attacks traditionally took place in Avdiivka and Luhanske,” said Col. Motuzyanyk.
