God, miracle and volunteers helped our children escape from the occupation

Liudmyla Barladyan told us how she had waited 77 days for the liberation of her daughter from the occupied Hola Prystan.

The team of female rowers from the Kyiv Sports Lyceum was preparing for the selection competition in academic rowing, which was to be held on February 27, 2022 in Oleshky, Kherson region. A week before the start of the competition, on February 20, they went to Hola Prystan. “They often did. They came to the competition in advance, because they had to unpack, assemble and launch the kayaks for training,” Liudmyla says.

But this year, the competition did not take place – on February 24, Russia’s war against Ukraine began, and on February 25, the Russian troops entered Hola Prystan. The girls found themselves in occupation.
