Arrests of Crimean Tatar activists under falsified charges, mass detentions of protesters in the occupied Crimea – such was the Kremlin’s response to the inaugural summit of the Crimea Platform. The international event initiated by Kyiv gathered 46 foreign delegations, which reaffirmed that #CrimeaIsUkraine.
Despite all the Kremlin’s attempts to portray the summit as insignificant, its crackdown on the Crimean Tatars signals quite the opposite: Moscow perceives the Platform as a serious threat to its illegal occupation of Crimea.
