The situation in the regions on the morning of March 25

Kyiv region. Fighting rages in Bucha district. Hot spots: Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel, Makariv, and villages of the Nemishayevska hromada. The Russian troops constantly launch mortar and artillery attacks. Some hit residential houses.

In Vyshgorod district, the Russian forces approached Slavutych. The city is isolated. In Brovary district, the Ukrainian troops conduct a successful defensive operation. In Fastiv district, a missile strike caused a fire. Extinguishing works continue. There is no casualty report.  

Chernihiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces defend the city of Chernihiv. In the city, difficult situation holds. In the region, intense fighting rages along the routes of the Russian troops.

Dnipropetrovsk region. At night, Russia made two missile strikes on a military base outside Dnipro. There are no casualty figures yet.

Sumy region. On the evening of March 24, the Russian troops renewed artillery attacks on the outskirts of Sumy. The attacks continue for over a week. In Okhtyrskyi district, Russia launched artillery attacks on the outskirts of Trostyanets. There are no casualty figures or reports on damage.  

Kharkiv region. The Russian troops targeted residential areas of Kharkiv from long range artillery all night long. The strikes caused fire. Extinguishing works continue. There are no casualty reports.   

In Kharkiv region, fighting rages in Izyum. The Ukrainian Armed Forces hold positions and engage in combat. Earlier Russia spread false claims that it took Izyum. In Derhachi, Russia’s shelling hit residential houses, a hospital, and an ambulance. There are wounded civilians. In Mala Rohan, a Russian helicopter attacked positions of a Russian tank regiment destroying equipment and live force.   

Zaporizhzhia region. The Ukrainian troops hold out against Russia’s advance toward Zaporizhzhia. On a number of axes, the Russian forces retreat. The Ukrainian troops continue to destroy hostile materiel.

Fierce fighting rages in Kamyanske, Orikhiv, Hulyaipole. A regional territorial defense unit conducted an offensive operation and liberated Malynivka village in Polohivskyi district.

Luhansk region. Russia constantly launches attacks on all cities in the region. Fighting rages in Rubizhne and Popasna. On March 24, five civilians were killed in Severodonetsk and Rubizhne, eight more were wounded. Thirty-two sites were damaged including seven apartment buildings, nine private houses, a school, a cinema in Severodonetsk, non-residential buildings, garages, and infrastructure facilities.

Donetsk region. At night, Russia incessantly shelled Maryinka and Avdiivka. On the morning of March 25, attacks continue. There are civilian casualties. The situation in Mariupol did not change. Humanitarian aid remains blocked.

Civilians leave the besieged city toward Manhush or Berdyansk from where they can be further evacuated in buses. Buses are delayed due to checks on hostile checkpoints.

Mykolayiv region. At night, air raid sirens went off in the region. The Ukrainian troops downed two missiles over Mykolayiv.

Kherson region. Explosions reported at night in Kherson and in areas bordering on Mykolayiv region. Russian forces dig trenches in the villages, fire toward the Ukrainian troops’ positions in Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolayiv regions, citizens of hromadas Vysokopillya, Velyka Oleksandrivka, and Beryslav say.

At night, a relatively calm situation held in Kirovohradska, Volynska, Vinnytsya, Zakarpatska, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Cherkasy, Lviv, Poltava, Rivne, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Odesa regions.
