Today, on May 18, the Russian army fired on the school with banned phosphate munitions. The school burned down. Fortunately, no one was injured: only duty persons were in the building, they managed to escape.

“There was no military, no military equipment in the school. It’s just that the Russians, as always, are deliberately destroying civilian infrastructure,” Kyrylenko said.

Prior to the large-scale Russian invasion, more than 200 children studied at Avdiivka School №1.

In total, since February 24, Russians in the Donetsk region have damaged and destroyed 416 educational institutions, including 181 kindergartens, 191 schools, 23 vocational schools and 21 universities.
