Russia is known throughout the world for its imperial appetites. The extent of their “ambition” is evident in how Russian propaganda has been spreading to Latin America and Caribbean countries. Russia has been taking advantage of the fact that said countries often have limited access to alternative sources of information to systematically spread disinformation and support local dictatorships in order to establish more influence in the global arena.
Russia is not afraid to use any means to spread its agenda, from terrorism and deployment of the Russian mercenary forces in support of the regimes that benefit Russia to blatant manipulation. They have been known to disrupt other countries’ democratic elections and to spread their narratives through education and cultural events. Russia is not above going as far as using food sources and food security as blackmail materials to facilitate its political expansion.
UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
