This Russian news piece merits a closer examination for the way it expertly twists the truths about events in Belarus.
It alludes to such democratic ideals as a “peaceful transfer of power” and “avoidance of a coup”, but it places the decision-making process within the hands of a dictator, who, in reality, was voted out of his office.
Moreover, it paints peaceful protesters, who actually adhere to the aforementioned democratic ideals, as dangerous radicals and directly accuses them of striving to turn their country into a “poverty-ridden anti-Russia”.
This last remark is an allusion to the way Kremlin media often portray Ukraine after the Revolution of Dignity.
