More than a thousand people are in Russian captivity

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine in cooperation with the Office of the President have returned 2,235 people to Ukraine.

Russia has confirmed that it is holding 3,392 Ukrainian servicemen in captivity. At the same time, approximately 15,000 people are considered missing in Ukraine, including many civilians. This was reported by Alyona Verbytska, the Ukrainian Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights Defenders, in an interview with Redaktions Netzwerk Deutschland (RND).
