A 42-years old Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Matsiievskyi got captured by occupiers and shot point-blank. His last words were “Glory to Ukraine” (“Slava Ukraini”).
Reportedly, he heroically died in late December 2022 near Soledar, Donetsk region. But the video of his execution appeared on March 6, 2023. On March 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi bestowed Matsiievskyi with the Hero of Ukraine honor.
