“The only chance for Ukraine to survive is to win this war, and Ukraine will not be able to do it without the help of the world”
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s EU Integration, took part in a public debate on the Euro-Atlantic security architecture and rethinking the EU’s neighborhood policy.
Ivanna said that Ukraine’s candidate status can now be granted based on a quick decision of the European Commission and can be supported by EU member states: “If the EU wants to remain a true outpost of democracy, a landmark for societies that believe in democracy and the values of freedom, it must give Ukraine this status. If the EU is truly representative democracy, its leaders must listen to the views of their citizens, 70% of whom support Ukraine’s accession to the EU.”
“This would give us not only a sense that our right to life is respected and protected but also a sense that our right to a future is also protected,” – she added.
