The situation in the regions on the morning of May 1

The Office of the President reported the situation in the regions of Ukraine, based on data from regional administrations on the morning of May 1. 

🔻Zaporizhzhia region

Local fighting continued along the contact line. Russian troops fired artillery at the positions of the Armed Forces and residential neighborhoods of cities, villages, and towns in the region.

🔻Dnipropetrovsk region

Air raid alarms were sounded at night and in the morning. The Russian military fired on the Zelenodolsk territorial community and hit one of the villages. No one was injured.

🔻Kharkiv region

The night passed relatively calmly. Isolated shelling of eastern residential areas continued, no one was injured. During the past 24hrs, there have been 9 fires in the city and region as a result of the occupiers’ shelling, including in Izium, Kharkiv, and Chuhuiv districts. Fighting continues in Izium.

🔻Luhansk region

During the day, Russian troops 19 times opened fire on residential areas of Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Rubizhne, and Popasna. In Rubizhne, one person was killed and one was wounded in the shelling. In Komyshuvaha (near Popasna), a town council building, a school, and an apartment building were destroyed. A gas pipeline was hit in Lysychansk.

🔻Donetsk region 

Active hostilities continued along the entire front line. 9 wounded civilians, including 4 children. The electrical grid in the Marinka territorial community has been cut off, leaving the city of Krasnohorivka without electricity. 435 people were evacuated on April 30.

🔻Kherson region

Explosions and shelling continue in the region. The situation remains difficult.

🟢In other regions of Ukraine, the night passed relatively calmly.
