On May 7 and the night of May 8, the situation in the east and south of Ukraine remained tense, in particular, Russian armed groups fired on the Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Mykolaiv regions. There are injured and dead.
The military-civil administrations reported the situation on the morning of May 8.
🔻Kharkiv region
There were several shellings on the outskirts of Kharkiv at night. According to preliminary information, no one was injured. In the town of Barvinkove, Izium district, a Russian shell hit a two-story apartment building. The body of the woman was found under the rubble.
Fighting continues in the Izyum direction.
🔻Luhansk region
Russia launched missiles and airstrikes on Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Popasna, and nearby settlements. In Bilohorivka, after the airstrike on the school, there are 62 victims. Two boys were killed and their sisters and grandmother were seriously injured in Pryvillia.
At night, the Russians opened fire on Shypylove. A two-storey house was destroyed there. According to preliminary information, 11 people remain under the rubble. There is no information about the dead.
🔻Donetsk region
Airstrikes and shelling on Avdiivka, Sviatohirsk, Siversk, Lyman, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Marinka, Toretsk, and Ocheretyn communities were recorded. There are 4 dead and 9 wounded during the past day in the region. In the morning it became known about one wounded civilian in Siversk.
In the Toretsk community, a gas pipeline was damaged during the shelling. The Russians continue to strike at industrial facilities, including the Avdiivka Coke Plant and Phenol Plant.
An operation to evacuate civilians is underway in Mariupol.
🔻Kherson region
Explosions and shelling are all over the region. The situation is stably critical in the communities on the border with Snihurivka, Mykolayiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in all villages of the former Velyka Oleksandrivka, Bilozirka, and Novovorontsovka districts.
The Russians continue to seize buildings of the local authorities in the region, including the Darivka village council and the Tokariv starosta district. The occupiers do not allow employees to work. Representatives of the Beryslav community also left the premises of the city council.
🔻Mykolaiv region
On the afternoon of May 7, Mykolaiv and the region were shelled. In particular, Russia launched a missile strike on an infrastructure facility in the Voznesensk district. During the day and night, shelling was recorded outside the village of Bereznehuvate. According to preliminary information, no one was injured.
Russians fired at residential quarters of one of the neighborhoods of Mykolaiv. The resulting fires were extinguished. In addition, as a result of the shelling, the Halytsynivskyi forest caught fire. The fire was also promptly extinguished.
On the night of May 8, Russia fired a missile at a remote area of Mykolaiv.
Five were injured and one died as a result of the shellings during the day in the region. Details about the victims are being clarified.
