Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion Russia has been committing various war crimes and atrocities against Ukrainian people. The Russian military has been known to target civilian infrastructure as a part of their terror inducing strategy, created to break the spirit of people.
Outside of Russia’s systematic attacks on civilian cities and energy infrastructure, Russian forces are also committing unimaginable war crimes, such as torturing and murdering prisoners of war. In Olenivka Russia used an artillery missile to hit a building where Ukrainian POWs were held, killing over 50 people.
Not even children are safe from Russian cruelty, as Russia has been known to be systematically kidnapping children and illegally deporting them into Russia.
The list of Russia’s war crimes goes on, with multiple cases of torturing and executing civilians on temporarily occupied territories, creating filtration camps, destroying cultural sites and causing irreparable damage to Ukrainian nature and ecosystem.
