Poltava region: on guard of a peaceful life

Since the start of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Poltava region in the central part of the country has hosted tens of thousands of internally displaced persons. Despite Russia’s brutal attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure and, as a result, frequent blackouts, life in the region has not stopped.

While Russia tries to turn the Ukrainians’ lives into a nightmare with missile and drone attacks and strikes against Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, local communities prepare for winter, increase energy efficiency, build new bomb shelters, and do not plan to give up.

The key aim of the Russian regime is to erase Ukrainian identity as well as to destroy democracy and civil society. However, tough times make Ukrainian solidarity even stronger in helping the military, supporting the internally displaced persons, and bringing out common victory closer.
