Ukrainian war postage stamps became extremely popular, especially in the earlier stages of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war: Ukrainians literally lined in queues to get their own sample of the “Russian warship…” series that traces the history of the Russian cruiser “Moskva” and its inevitable finale in 3 postage stamps and three coupons.
Ukrposhta increased the circulation of the final issue of stamps about the Russian warship by up to 5 million copies, which is a record for the Ukrainian art postage stamps. There have also been many other kinds of stamps, e.g. depicting a destroyed Crimean bridge or the famous sapper dog Patron, all released in millions of copies.
Buying Ukrainian postage stamps is one of the ways to support Ukraine in its resistance to Russian aggression. International stamps are also a way of helping Ukraine because part of their value is going to charity and volunteer organizations. Ukrainian war stamps have become true symbols of Ukrainian resistance but also documents that are evidence of the war and Ukraine’s perseverence.
