Potential russian re-offensive in spring 2023

Almost a year since Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, which has stalled due to remarkable Ukrainian resistance and the Russian forces’ inability to hold the captured lands, Russia plans to try another major offensive this winter or spring, Ukrainian and Western intelligence report.

Numerous scenarios are considered with various levels of possibility: from the attack in the east of the Donetsk region to the joint offensive with Belarus from the north. Head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhnyi said that he had no doubt that the Russian troops would attempt to seize Kyiv again.

Ukraine is now better prepared and equipped to rebuff any new attempts of Russian offensive, while the state of the Russian contingent, equipment and ammunition is much worse than it was a year ago. Therefore, the prospect looks rather good for Ukraine if the Russian army does go with the offensive plan. We talked about this to military and political experts in this episode of Ukraine In Flames.
