Since the start of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, dominant Russian rhetoric has been built on intimidation. Trying to intimidate both Ukrainians and allies of Ukraine, Russia still tries to win the war for minds.
Given enormous losses on the front line, it becomes harder and harder to explain to Russians what they are fighting for. Therefore, Russian propaganda still tries to create an alternative reality where Russia defends itself from the “collective West.”
However, in the real world, Russian soldiers commit war crimes and will be held accountable for them sooner or later. So one of the possible scenarios left — is to go all the way. So what is Russia capable of trying to win the war?
UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
