The prospects of returning refugees and migrants back home

Russia’s large-scale invasion deprived many Ukrainians of their homes, forcing them to seek shelter within the country or abroad. Also, many of them have already returned home.

Some of those who were forced to flee their homes, have already integrated abroad, and another keep contributing to the Ukrainian economy. Ukrainian diaspora all over the world have already proven their strength in both economical and political support of Ukraine — and new waves of Ukrainians make their voices even more powerful.

While the majority of Ukrainians who are temporarily in other countries, plan to return home, it is hard to predict the demographic picture in postwar Ukraine. Therefore, Ukrainian government is already working on the migration return strategy, reintegration programs for Ukrainians and the programs for involvement of migrants from other countries.

UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
