Ukrainian farmers risking life for a harvest on mined fields

Since February 24, Russia has been waging a war of annihilation against the Ukrainian nation and certainly against the Ukrainian economy. As in 2022, this year, the sowing campaign in Ukraine will also be difficult not only because of the constant missile threats but also because of the mined fields.

The process of demining and clearing Ukrainian land from the remnants of war will take much time and financial resources. Slowing down the sowing campaign and making the agricultural work more expensive is another part of the aggressor’s plan.

As about 5 million hectares of Ukrainian land are either mined or contaminated due to military actions, Ukraine needs the help of international partners since the defining process requires very large expenses for equipment and a lot of specialists involved.

UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
