The interaction between Ukraine and Azerbaijan has a long history and a considerable component of friendly relations. Like the rest of Ukraine, after gaining independence, Azerbaijan tried in every possible way to avoid falling into the sphere of influence of Russia, which wanted to turn it into its satellite.
Ukrainian politics tried to maintain a balance between Armenia and Azerbaijan but always claimed that it stood for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
For both countries, deepening cooperation in connection with the full-scale war in Ukraine opens up even more tools for collaboration and mutual assistance in confronting aggressive Russian policy.
UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
