The evolution of care for combatants with life-changing injuries has changed significantly since 2014. Soldiers severely wounded on the battlefield often faced a bleak outlook, with limited medical resources and little understanding of long-term rehabilitation.
Prosthetics of lost limbs to wounded defenders is something that Ukraine actively helps abroad by opening rehabilitation programs. However, even after restoring lost limbs, Ukrainian wounded need long psychological and social rehabilitation.
Emphasis is placed on physical recovery, improving the overall quality of life, and facilitating their reintegration into civilian society. This evolution reflects a growing recognition of the sacrifices made by combatants and a commitment to providing the best possible care and support as they overcome the challenges of life-changing injuries.
UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
